At TMR we’ve been notching tubes and reselling tube notchers for years. We’ve learned many pitfalls and shortcomings of notchers along the way. This has allowed us to develop and manufacture The Grizzly Tube Notcher - guaranteed not to let you down!
The key to tube notching and any metal cutting is rigidity. With a 1-1/4” thick main block, 1” thick swing arm and 1-1/4” heat treated chromoly shaft we guarantee The Grizzly is the most rigid hole saw notcher on the planet.
Why buy The Grizzly over other hole saw tubing notchers?

nice good quality heavy duty notcher.
could be nice if you marked metric size too.
Thanks, Guy! We appreciate the feedback and 5 star review.
Finally got to use the notched to repair a dirt track chassis and this notched is awesome. Very easy to use and accurate, wish I would have had one years ago. Only downside I found was it being a little bit annoying to track down fine thread bolts to mount it too my table, would have been nice if it came with them but other than that it was great.
Thanks, Scott! We really appreciate the purchase and the 5 star review. Have a great day!
I was stubborn and would hand draw my notches, and they never came out quite perfect, and took way too long. Once I invested in my time and got this notcher, not only have I saved 4x the amount of time, but my notches come out way cleaner and tighter now. Also being able to use it on flat plate for cutting out tube caps with the steps on the block comes in super handy, too.
Hell yeah! Thanks for the stellar review. Glad to see you've found a ton of good uses for your Grizzly Notcher!
Overall - This thing is pure beef. It is DEFINITELY built to take punishment. Excellent build quality, great fit and finish. I set it up right away and started making some notches and noticed a few spots that The Grizzly needs improvements on. Notch quality is decent once tool is set properly. This thing SPANKS my old harbor freight notcher but still needs refinement in my opinion.
1. The Degree Wheel - its built to rotate so you can "re-calibrate" from time to time. after a few notches I used my thumb to gently wipe away the metal shavings and scratched the degree numbers. I'd suggest engraving the tool with the numbers, or offer an engraved degree wheel. I don't really need to adjust the degree wheel anyway. If anything the degree indicator can be bent back into position to "recalibrate".
2. The orange clamp mechanisms are pretty clumsy. I thought this was something I would not notice as much. Turns out, when you are trying to maneuver a part with 4 bends into the tool - these clamps are a pain. with simple parts or straight pieces - not quite as bad. The swivel ends are pretty finicky for trying to slide notched parts out and new parts in. Something that only takes one hand to tighten -and without a wrench - would be a massive improvement.
3. Another customer mentioned a double wrench should be included - I agree. I sacrificed a couple and welded them together. Not a deal breaker though.
Another note - USE CAUTION WHEN BACKING OUT SMALL HOLE SAWS - anything 1.25" or…
Thanks for the detailed review, Nathan. We appreciate the feedback.
For the clamps, I always tighten them down by hand using the knurled thumb wheels, then crank them tight with a wrench. Hopefully that's something that can help you when setting up/clamping tubes.
Have an awesome day!
